Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration

The fire is out. The damage is not.

When the fire department leaves, the hard part starts.

Soot covers walls, ceilings and everything in the room.

Smoke goes where the fire never did.

It soaks into drywall, insulation and framing.

Wiping the surface does not reach it.

We tear out what burned, clean and seal what stays, and rebuild the rooms.

When to call

What a fire leaves behind.

Any one of these is worth a call to (256) 624-8206. We answer 24 hours.

  1. Soot on walls and ceilings

A black or gray film on walls, ceilings and fixtures. Wiping it only smears it deeper.

  2. Charred drywall, wood or trim

Burned material holds smoke and cannot be cleaned back. It has to come out.

  3. A smoke smell that will not leave

The smell sits in drywall, insulation and ductwork. Air fresheners only cover it up.

  4. Residue around the vents

If the HVAC ran during or after the fire, soot rides the ducts into other rooms.

  5. Wet walls and floors

Putting out a fire soaks the house. That water has to be dried or mold can follow.

  1. 01

    You call, we come

    Call (256) 624-8206 any hour.

We walk the house, see how far the soot and smoke went and explain what comes next.

  2. 02

    Tear out the char

Burned drywall, insulation, carpet and wood come out.

We cut back to solid material, so nothing smoky is left in the walls.

  3. 03

    Clean the soot

Walls, ceilings, floors and framing that can be saved get cleaned.

Soot is removed, not painted over.

  4. 04

    Seal and deodorize

Cleaned framing and surfaces get sealed, so old smoke smell does not bleed back through.

    Then we deodorize the rooms.

  5. 05

    Rebuild the rooms

New drywall, mud, paint, trim, flooring and tile.

You get back finished rooms, not a gutted house.

Questions

Fire & Smoke questions.

Anything else? Call (256) 624-8206, day or night.

What should I do after the fire department leaves?

Do not wipe the soot. Wiping smears it into walls and fabric.

Do not run the HVAC or fans. They push smoke and soot through the house.

Change your clothes before you go back in, so you do not carry soot room to room.

Take photos of every room before anything is moved, then call us.

Is the food in my kitchen safe to eat?

Do not eat food that was exposed to smoke or heat.

When you are not sure, throw it out.

Can the smoke smell really be removed?

Yes, but it has to be removed from where it settled.

Smoke settles into drywall, insulation and framing.

Material that cannot be cleaned gets replaced. Paint alone does not fix it.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Call (256) 624-8206 and we will come look at it.
